Ace director, Imtiaz Ali prepares to make a biopic on Punjabi folk Singer Chamkila aka Amar Singh. The latter is famous for his songs in extra martial affairs, drinking, and drug abuse.
Imtiaz is currently busy with the final stages of the upcoming sequel of Love Aaj Kal consists Sara Ali Khan and Kartik aaryan in the lead. It will hit theaters on Valentines Day 14 Feb 2020. As per the report, the filmmaker is keen for the next project featuring the life story Chamkila late. The director is in conversation with the Singer family. Also, he was looking for a rope in Ayushmann Khurana or Kartik aaryan for a central role.

Although he was quite popular, many people argue that his songs are controversial and anti-social. He was only 28 when gunmen shot him dead with his wife Amarjyot. Connoted as Elvis from Punjab, Chamkila strange life while singing songs debated.
Speaking about this last project director Imtiaz Harry Met Jab Sejal, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma failed to attract a crowd at the box office.
