Greyhound: Tom Hanks’ war drama will premiere on Apple TV+

Another bad news for the theatre lover (Especially for me). Tom Hanks’ most awaited war drama film Greyhound skips theatre release, and now film directly premieres on OTT Platform Apple TV+.

According to Deadline, Sony Pictures were initially planning to release the film on June 12, but the coronavirus pandemic made it reconsider its strategy.

The film based on the 1955 novel The Good Shepherd by C S Forester and Tom Hanks penned down the screenplay.

Aaron Schneider is the director and Gary Goetzman is the produced of Greyhound.

I think Greyhound is a significant addition to Apple TV +, as it is lagging behind many of its rivals, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ since the platform was released.

We can also say that the actor is returning to the high seas after seven years because before that, he was seen in Captain Phillips (2013).

According to the source, Apple TV + bought its rights in a deal costing around $ 70 million.

The film follows a US Navy Commander Ernest Krause on his first war-time assignment in command of a multinational escort group.

To be honest, this news is disappointing for me because watching this film on the theater screen would have been a different experience.

Heere, watch the official trailer of Greyhound:-
