Now, if you are one of the users who have to deal with different types of editors on a daily basis, and if you are one of the programmers who work with several programming languages, then you have to install several editors for your programming languages and use them separately, which is really difficult.

You can learn the rules of the language you want by using the wizard (special assistant) of this program, such as which symbols mean comments and which symbols are “operants” and other required items… and easily edit the color and rules according to your taste… - It has Auto-completion, which means that after choosing your programming language and pressing Ctrl+Space, a menu will open where you can easily find and type the words defined in that language. Currently, this program supports 22 languages in the following order:

Notepad++ is a free source code editor which supports several programming languages running under the MS Windows environment.Notepad++ is designed to be a freeware replacement for Notepad.
This project, based on Scintilla edit component (a very powerful editor component) and written in C++ with pure win32 api (i.e. without MFC, that ensures the higher execution speed and smaller size of the program), is under the GPL Licence.
This project is mature. However, as you can see it’s a one-man-project, there’re still some bugs and missing features.
